Selling inherited and estate jewellery

Short answer: bring the jewellery in as it is, without cleaning or sorting it. We go through each piece with you, separate gold, diamonds and costume jewellery, and explain what each is worth before you decide anything.

Take your time

Sorting through a loved one's jewellery can be hard. You don't need to decide on the day. You can come in just to find out what you have, and come back later if you choose to sell.

Before you come in

What we look at

Selling for an estate

The person selling must be 18 or over and bring three forms of ID in their own name (see what to bring). Payment is by bank transfer to the seller's account. If you are acting for an estate, please check with the executor or your solicitor about who should sell and where the money should go.

Common questions

Do I have to sell everything at once?

No. You can sell some pieces, keep others, or simply find out what you have and decide later.

Should I clean old jewellery before bringing it in?

No. Bring it as it is. Some cleaning can damage stones or old finishes.

Can I sell jewellery on behalf of a family member's estate?

The seller must be 18 or over and provide three forms of ID in their own name, and payment goes to the seller's bank account. Check with the executor or a solicitor about who should sell for the estate.
